Overview

The Eedi Misconceptions Graph dataset uses learning components entities and relationships.

The Eedi Misconceptions Graph dataset represents common math misconceptions and the constructs they get in the way of:

Misconception - Flawed conceptual structure, or a gap in conceptual understanding, that shows up as a systematic, predictable error pattern across problems involving the same mathematical concept
Construct - Granular learning goals that target a specific element of mathematics (e.g. Order fractions with the same denominators)

It is sourced from the Eedi ↗ Misconceptions Graph and derived from more than 120 million recorded student answers to Diagnostic Questions. Students answer multiple-choice Diagnostic Questions with 1 correct answer and 3 distractors. Each distractor is tagged with the misconception it reveals. Those responses are then aggregated into a graph that demonstrates which misconceptions attach to which parts of mathematics.

Misconceptions are currently reachable only through Eedi constructs – not through academic standards, learning components, or curriculum.
